My friend Janie is kind of a hermit. She does everything online including shop for jaw breakers and concert tickets, which for the longest time I’ve always kind of thought was a little bit weird. I mean, the concert tickets makes sense, but buying things that you could get at a seven eleven is a little bit weird. She said that she doesn’t like to leave her apartment unless she’s going to do something fun, which makes a whole lot of sense. I’ve never really liked running errands or driving back and forth to work in rush-hour traffic, which is something I always have to do. She on the other hand is a freelance writer, so if she wants to stay home and order candy online she can totally do it.
The other day I was walking through the supermarket when I started thinking about her. I began to wonder if there was one of those businesses that had figured out how to profitably deliver groceries to your door. I remember a few years back hearing of a couple of companies that were trying to do just that, but they ended up failing. I wondered if they’d even bring candy to you, which would’ve been kind of ridiculous if they couldn’t.
