Peter Nygard was born on the year 1843 in Helsinki, Finland. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Business degree. Just as he graduated, he played with his luck and risked on having his own business. By pulling up from his savings and gambling on loan, Peter was able to have $8,000. He invested his money for a 20 percent share in a women’s wear.

Fate was with him when his small investment became a turning point. On the year 1967, Peter Nygard established and became the owner of a women’s wear company named Nygard International. Peter did not waste a single time renewing the business from near bankruptcy. He used all his knowledge and later on produced $800,000 as annual sales.

The company’s reputation escalated because of the strategic alliance it has with the Dillard’s. It eventually became Canada’s First Women’s Fashion House. Peter Nygard travelled to various Dillard’s stores all over the United States to gain trust from his customers. Peter did not fail. By then, the Nygard International has been one of the most successful women’s clothing lines. It was once described as the largest women’s clothing manufacturer and supplier in the world. Today, the company has its branches and offices in Toronto, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal, Gardena, California, New York and Mexico. This also includes Russia and Finland, which has been in business for more than 10 years. Compared to the $800,000 annual sales, the annual sales today are already about a billion dollars.
